What State Are You Hoping Blogher'14 Goes To Next? #blogher14


Hey!

Okay, so I did not attend Blogher’13 last week (**sigh &tear**) however, I’m super excited to know where Blogher’14 will be located. I remember last year, at Blogher’13 knowing the next location for this year before I left the conference. (Or I overheard the rumor, hehe)… So not going this year really made me realize how much I really miss going to Blogher and connecting with so many awesome bloggers in person. So the anticipation really has me sooo ready to know, and plan. So I compiled a list of places I want/hoping Blogher’14 will be. Of course the actual state has already been selected (I guess they are doing the final details). But I thought it would be cool to hear everyone’s selections/predictions.

This list is in no particular order:

Atlanta

Vegas

New York

North Carolina

Boston

Okay, so pretty much, I want Blogher’14 on the East Coast umm, do you think they will come to Connecticut? (Wishful thinking right?)

Anywho, I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

My Blogher'12 My... Thoughts...


Blogher’12 it was truly an experience! I had an amazing time at all of the parties I attend, The Relax, it’s … Lees Spill Spa Experience!, Iconix and Lipstick and High Heels just to name a few.

I had an amazing time meeting so many wonderful people and great brands! (Everyone was so so so nice to me) Thank You!


Likes!
  • I also truly enjoyed seeing two of my favorite people President Obama and Martha Stewart.
  • I wanted to take a moment to share with you guys my likes and dislikes (disclaimer: this is my opinion yours may be different from mines)
  • I had an amazing time meeting so wonderful people and great brands! (Everyone was so so so nice to me) Thank You!
  • I also truly enjoyed seeing two of my favorite people President Obama (Steaming live) and Martha Stewart.
  • I loved the off site parties; they were really the highlight of my entire trip. The parties were so much fun. I was able to connect with brands and also meet new bloggers in an intimate setting.
  • I loved how the conference was in New York, love the location! I live only 2-3 hours away from Manhattan, so I was truly grateful to have the option to drive verses the expenses of other traveling methods. Plus, the shopping, YES Please!
  • SWAG!!!!! Yes, it was SWAG galore (The brands were amazingly sweet and helpful) I also love how they had a swag exchange so blogger were able to exchange or leave unwanted SWAG.

Dislikes

The Hotel:

The evaluators were ridiculous, it took so long to get everywhere, my room was tiny (which could be expected for NY) the food was fine; it was nothing to brag home about.

The Expo Halls:

Some of the expo halls felt really tight once it was packed with people (there were a few brands that were having their own conversations, and I guess were there to keep each other company and not interact with the bloggers). I really wanted to have a moment to interact with the representatives from the brands, and connect with them, which I was able to do. The brands that I did speak with were so sweet, and I am Thankful that I had a moment to connect with them.

This was my first conference so I really did not have anything to compare it to. I expected for the conference to full of people, due to it being located in NY. I look forward to attending future blogger conferences and meeting all of my blogger friends in person.

What I'm doing to Prepare for Blogger Conferences


Are you attending any blogger conferences this year????

I wanted to write a post focusing on what I’m doing to prepare for the upcoming blogger conferences. I hope this list helps anyone preparing attend.

Cost?
It is very important to write down an estimate of what the cost will be associated with going on this conference.
  • Childcare (and any cost associated with the childcare provider)
  • Transportation i.e. gas, plane ticket, bus, train fair, cab
  • Food (snacks/meals to and from the conference, snacks during the conference)
  • Hotel (and parking fees)

Are you going?

Get to know the people that will be attending the conference. Usually each conference will have a list of everyone who will be attending.

What about my blog???

Schedule your post or seek guest post prior to the event.

Swag

I have never been to a blogger conference before. However, I always hear about the SWAG. If you are traveling on a plane, make sure to bring an extra bag just in case or make arrangements via FedEx, USPS or UPS.

Everything Else/ Create a list
  • Bring extra clothing, jackets, comfortable footwear etc.  Depending on time of year, dress accordingly. “It’s not what you wear, but how you wear it”
  • Business cards are a must! If this is your first conference, I would suggest purchasing what you can afford and what you will be using. Find out how many people typically attend the conference and do the math from there. (Order business cards advance)
  • Bring all of the electronics that you will be using during the conference and their chargers (Purchase rechargeable batteries if needed.)
  • Toiletries (Hair skin, and nails- your everyday must haves)
  • Vitamins/Medications (order/purchase in advance)
  • USB (I would suggest caring this with you during the conference. You never know when you will have to save something)
  • Extra tote (or a few)
  •  Pen & note pad(always bring extra)
  •  Conference schedule (Print out or bookmark on your phone, laptop/netbook or ipad)
I'm still trying to attend the Type-A Parent Conference in June in NC. As prior stated in my seeking sponsorship post. I am really big on creating list. I will be creating a list with everything needed to be done prior to the event and a checklist for going to and leaving the event. I feel that it is very important to have a list for leaving the event also. How many times do you go in a panic. Because you were not sure if you left something (show of hands). I would also suggest emailing the list to your or having it saved with you on a USB drive.
